I bought the Viewsonic VA1903wb to replace an old CRT monitor that weighed 55 pounds and took up a lot of desk real estate. What a positive improvement! Not only is the picture better (and in widescreen format) but this monitor weighs just 9 pounds and, since it is only a couple of inches thick, it takes up much less space on my desk. The drivers were easy to install with the accompanying CD, although they did not install automatically on my 6-year-old Dell computer running an up-to-date copy of Windows XP Pro. The recommended screen resolution setting of 1440×900 pixels provides ample space on a 19″ screen for desktop publishing and graphics applications.
Color rendition is very good and the default brightness and contrast settings worked well for me. (Actually, I toned down the brightness just a tad.) If you are in need of a new monitor, I strongly recommend this one.
