HP W2207H Review:
The HP W2207H is a 22″ wide-screen flat panel monitor with liquid crystal display LCD and thin-film transistor TFT screen. Coupling a wide screen and 720p 1080i high-def imaging, HP W2207H offers exceptional viewing if you (plan to) use your PC or Macintosh for viewing video. Consider adding an optional TV tuner adapter to your PC and this monitor doubles as a TV monitor. Rated with a 5-millisecond response time, the display offers dynamite performance for fast-action videogame play. The HP W2207H comes with a table stand but it is also VESA 100 compatible for use with an optional wall mount. Do more with the w2207h! BriteView Technology enhances clarity and provides brilliant colors 1680 x 1050 factory.
The 22″ HP W2207H has all the features you could want in a good monitor. It comes through with great image quality, particularly with text, and it provides tilt, pivot, swivel and height adjustments. The HP w2207h display, which has a native resolution of 1680 by 1050 pixels, comes with two side USB ports, plus HDMI and VGA inputs. HP doesn’t bundle an adaptor to connect the monitor’s HDMI or VGA ports to the DVI connection that most PCs now use, although such adapters are inexpensive and readily available online. The HP w2207h display sits in an inch thick glossy black bezel with rounded edges. Unfortunately, you can easily smudge the glossy finish with fingerprints when adjusting the display.
Although the HP w2207h doesn’t have a headphone jack, it does include a set of built-in speakers. Like most speakers built into monitors, the HP’s are weak in bass, resulting in flat, tinny audio. For soft background music or basic sound effects for games, however, the speakers are adequate.

HP W2207H User Review:
I’ve had HP W2207H just over a day, I’m still waiting for my HDMI-DVI cable to get here so I’m using the VGA port. Even with the VGA output it looks outstanding, the monitor is brighter than my 20.1″ Dell 2005FPW and obviously larger. The design is sleek and the glossy finish makes it even more attractive. The software is helpful for calibration and the auto-pivot feature seems like it could be useful for certain occasions. Nevertheless, I have four minor quips with HP W2207H monitor, nothing to really bring about the buyer’s remorse but something the future buyer should be aware of.
1. Just about every single specification on HP W2207H monitor is supposedly better than my Dell…at least on paper. The truth is the the vertical viewing angle is completely overstated, I’d say it’s at MOST half of what they say (160). This may not be a factor for you if you sit right in front of your computer all the time.
2. Since my Dell also does portrait mode I expected the monitor to do it just as easily too. However, the fact is you have to raise the monitor to the highest level, tilt it back as far as you can, only then do you have enough space to turn the monitor a full 90 degrees. Doing this every time you wish to switch between landscape and portrait can be frustrating.
3. Since the USB ports are on the left side and portrait is 90 degrees to the right, if you have any wired USB devices connected to the monitor, it’s going to fly up along with the left side of the monitor.
4. There is slightly more glare on the monitor due to the glossy finish.
My three year old Dell has a virtually complete viewing angle with no degradation/shift in color/contrast/brightness either horizontal or vertical. The Dell has zero glare, easier shift to portrait mode and supports a wider range for height adjustment. Unless the next iteration of the monitor fixes these minor annoyances, my next monitor will be another Dell.
Having said that, I am not expecting to return HP W2207H monitor and I believe I will still thoroughly enjoy HP W2207H for what its worth and it probably IS the best monitor at this price point
